Founder & Managing Attorney
Ms. Vance was born and raised in Hamburg, Germany. She immigrated to the United States in her early 20s. Ms. Vance decided to become a lawyer due to her passion to help other immigrants obtain their American dream.
Ms. Vance graduated from the University of Washington in the top of her class with Magna Cum Laude (with high honors) in Middle Eastern Studies and then proceeded to the University of Washington School of Law. During her time in law school, Ms. Vance volunteered for the Northwest Immigrants Rights Project (NWIRP) and interned at the Attorney General’s Office in the Criminal Justice Division.
After clerking for the Sexually Violent Predator Unit at the Attorney General’s Office, and interning for a private Seattle law firm, Ms. Vance founded the Magna Law Group, PLLC straight out of law school. With a passion to help those that need legal advocacy the most, she created a thriving Immigration Law and Criminal Defense firm in 2009. After Ms. Vance herself went through the tedious German Beibehaltungegenehmigungs (BBG) (Retention Certificate) process during law school, and naturalized the year after, she started to offer assistance to her German clients with the BBG application process as a side project. When the demand and the inquiries kept increasing due to word of mouth referrals, she was was asked repeatedly to give presentations in front of large groups. Representing BBG applicants became a increasingly larger part of her legal practice.
When she received requests from German clients from all over the United States, she realized that her proven process of helping her local clients to get BBG approvals would work just as well nationally. Face-to-face meetings were no more effective than phone or videoconference consultations. When her BBG client base had grown exponentially over the years, she decided to devote a separate business to the BBG applications and launch it nationally. With the help of Philipp Müller, a German attorney who came to the US from Munich to assist with creating the new specialized business, German Dual Citizenship, LLC was founded.
Ms. Vance is bilingual in English and German and speaks intermediate levels of French and Arabic.
